I wanted some Filipino food and told myself to give this place another shot. Actually this is the 3rd time I am giving this place and it didn’t disappoint. I knew it would be mediocre, but boy it was bad. Walked in and was greeted - cool Checked out whats available and told the person by the counter what I wanted. He kept insisting on combo plates. I said out loud that I don’t want the combo. Told him my order and he still asked if I wanted the combo. Again, I politely declined. I said medium size, he then told me the sizes. I said medium size again in the same volume as before I was paying and he asked if I wanted a bag for .25$, I said sure. He gave me my change and didn’t give me a bag. I told him again that I wanted a bag. He still didn’t understand, until I gestured towards the bag I also noticed that the cooks didn’t have a proper prep table. The one lady was chopping veggies on top of the shelf with the chopping board barely on there. Isn’t this an OSHA violation? Oh, food was bland and I don’t understand why some people rave about the lumpia. Its crispy/crunchy but no flavor Sinigang was too salty

Turo is my go-to for Filipino comfort food in San Francisco. Easy access to Balboa Bart, this is the place to pick up a plate for yourself or family. They have many hot options and some vary daily depending on what is cooked. The morning longsilog with garlic rice and egg is always a nice touch. I like the 2 item combo with white rice usually with a chicken, beef, or pork dish. I never know what to order until I get there but Clark and the rest of the staff are helpful in explaining the dishes. Grab a banana Turon dessert as well to end the meal. This is also a great place for lumpia. I sometimes pick up a big box for a party.

I walked here on a weekday. I felt optimistic to trust something new. I decided to get a entree with rice and pancit on the side. I asked if there was any beef dishes and there was only one, so I decided to try that. I got a few pieces of meat and potatoes, but no carrots. So ask for some carrots, and a guy seemed confused or irritated. I asked for a little bit of meat because the portion looks good small and he said they only give 4 pieces. Wow talk about really portion controlling. When it's time to pay, who's about fifteen dollars. I was expecting to pay around $10 because that is the price on the menu. It turned out to be around $15 without itemizing the pricing. I asked for clarification and the girl said that the beef is a premium item. Keep in mind that there was no labeling on any of the food entrees and they did not tell me that it was a premium item ahead of time so i was surprised. I asked, where does it say It's a premium item and she took about five minutes to point it out to me on the menu screen above. If they want to charge something a premium price, they should let people know what ahead of time. To me, it seems like a random upcharge because they felt like it. Ok

If you eat the Longanisa here you will never be able to eat Longanisa anywhere. These things pop in your mouth. They are plump, soft and melt in your mouth with just enough give to make it a delicacy to chew. Each bite is a visit to heaven, you will need rice to temper it's flavor because it's almost overwhelmingly delicious. The flavors are an explosion of culture. It's history. You can taste the Spanish influence, blended with Phillipine's unique sense of flavors. I don't think any other Longanisa is anywhere near this. I don't think any sausage hits like this, if you live in the San Francisco area you need to try this. If you get one thing here it should be the Longanisa, garlic rice and Laing (leafy veggie in coconut milk.) If you want something sweet get the Turon. Jackfruit, Banana and other yummy things stuffed into a fried roll. Absolutely perfect.

Flavor-forward, Filipino box lunch / takeaway. The friendly, American-born pinoy staff greet with a smile upon entering — an unexpected (but most welcome) change when normally accustomed to seeing an auntie behind the counter. Beef Kaldereta, a highlight — savory beef stew with a creamy finish from liver paste in sauce. Chicken Adobo, on-point with soy sauce-to-vinegar proportion (slightly more salty than sour). Pork Sisig, charry goodness flavored with savory, sweet and vinegary. Pancit, impressively packed with vegetables and protein — a relief from the normal carb-only option (with a few slivers of carrot and cabbage) often encountered elsewhere. Dishes are clearly made with pride and high-quality in mind. An excellent option when exploring Filipino food (complete with explanations from the very helpful staff).
